my first blog post!

Welcome to anna knits, etc. I'm glad you're stopping by! 

I decided my first blog post should be something knitting related -- we can get to the etc part later. Anyone who knows me knows that I love knitting tea cosies. It is the perfect project for the impatient knitter (me), who wants something a little harder than a scarf, but a little easier than mittens. And they are pretty cute to boot.

The tea cosies shown above are knitted on both straight and double pointed size 7 US needles. The pattern is a riff on the Strawberry Tea Cosy pattern by Katya Frankel, avaliable as a free download from Ravelry. 

I'm in the middle of knitting a Union Jack tea cosy (pattern also from Ravelry) for my friend, Mara, who is moving to the UK next year for grad school. I've only done intarsia one time before, so wish me luck!
