Last week I wrote about green being one of my favorite spring colors. But when it comes to my nails, I have been at a loss to find an on-trend color for the season. Most magazine articles I've read have said that nude nails are the way to go this spring. (Read more about that in Harper's Bazaar here and Vogue here.) I've tried pale nails, but since I don't have any sort of tan yet, I felt it left my hands looking flat.
Perhaps I'll try neutral polish again, once I have more of a tan, or in the fall. Recently though I'm sticking with brightly colored nails. My favorite shade of the moment is the orangey-red, My Paprika is Hotter than Yours by OPI.
Do you have a favorite spring nail polish color?

spring, etc. - green!
On my way to work I get to walk through the Boston Public Garden. It was looking especially lush today, so I snapped this picture. I love how green the grass and trees are. Maybe I am prejudice, because green has always been one of my favorite colors, but I feel like green is a color trend for the season. I especially love it paired with black...
Here is one of my favorite new J. Crew patterns of the season: punk floral.
And for another burst of green + black, how about a Grasshopper Sundae? I'm in!

jewelry, etc. - blue bracelets
I am obsessed with these bracelets I got for the holidays:
They are by Garnett Jewelry and come in lots of colors. I love how mine add a pop of blue to my outfit.

organizing, etc. - color block magnets
Work is very busy for me at the moment, which means I have organizing on my mind. I don't know about you, but I've always been more into organizing supplies rather than the act of organizing itself... One such organizing supply I've been eyeing lately are these Color Block Magnets.
They are by Cuppa Color, and come in all different hues. I really like this purple-y pastel bunch.
So cute!

nails, etc.
This weekend was particularly gorgeous in Boston. It was 75F and sunny all weekend long, which made it a great chance to sport new summer styles. While I've always enjoyed painting my toe nails, I've recently starting painting my finger nails as well. It is a fast and easy way to add color to an outfit.
Today I wanted to share my newest nail polish experiment. I was inspired by this picture on instagram from Meredith (author of the blog one sheepish girl) of @sheepishknitcrochet.

I happend to have a bottle of OPI (sparkle-icious) glitter nail polish I stole from my sister (sorry Jackie!), as well as a new coral, pinky color from Essie (e-nuf is e-nuf) I got on sale at CVS.
I layered the two, because the OPI glitter polish is more like a top coat with specs of glitter. You would need to do many coats to get a full glitter look.
I'm calling this duo Birthday Cake Nails, because the mix of the rainbow glitter on the pinky-red reminds me of a birthday cake. Perfect for summer!
